Visual Impact - Photo Images and Mock Ups |
|
|
| Mockup of a panoramic view across Appleton Wiske |
|
To give an idea of how big the turbines
will be, mock ups have been constructed as accurately
as possible.
Photographs of other existing windfarms have also been
included. The turbines
will be 125 metres tall and the blades will have an
82 metre diameter
They will dominate the landscape and will be visible
for miles.
The area is relatively flat, without hills to hide them. |

This is Blacklaw Windfarm.
Was this good planning? |

This picture shows how the turbines dominate the countryside.
Notice how the trees are dwarfed by the turbines. |
Conisholme, East Lincs - existing windfarm - 45 m
shorter than Appleton Wiske
|
|
|
The Conisholme windfarm in East Lincolnshire has 80
metre tall turbines. That is 45 metres shorter than
ours.
You can see how they tower over the houses. In this
picture the house is down wind of the turbine which
means that the noise would be carried towards the house.
