Proposed Wind Farm at Ingram Grange Farm
You may already be aware that a company called Pure Renewable Energies have submitted a Scoping Report to Hambleton District Council covering a proposed Wind Farm located at Ingram Grange Farm (Tony Elsdon's Farm). In brief it consists of 9 turbines with 69m (226 ft) towers, 82m (269 ft) diameter blades giving a total height of 110m (361 ft), a maximum height to the tip of the blades of 125m. There would also be an anemometry mast 125m high (410 ft) and a control room. It will also be necessary to get the power off the site but details of what pylons, substations etc would be required are not included in the proposal. Overleaf please find a map of the proposal taken from the report.

The proposal was debated at the Parish Council meeting on 12 January and comments made there, plus those in letters received from parishioners, were included in the Parish Council's response to Hambleton DC Planning Department. That response is attached and is also available on the Apple-ton Wiske website:

Please come along for one hour

What can I do now?
o You can write to Jonathan o Saddington with your views

DO NOT DO NOTHING -ALL LETTERS ARE RECORDED

o Possibly copy your letter to your HDC Councillors, Bridget Fortune and Stephen Dickins

o Write to your MP -William Hague

o Write to your MEP - Godfrey Bloom

o Volunteer your services in some way to the Action Group on 9 February.

Some facts
o At a height of 11 Om and with blades 82m diameter, each turbine is 5½ times as tall as the Angel of the North and over 1 ½ times as wide

o The developer of the proposed Bullamoor Wind Farm for 4 turbines of similar size estimates 17,000 vehicle movements over a 9 month period

o House prices are significantly affected by proximity to Wind Farms and can, in some cases, become unsaleabler.
