Yes - we can win! No - the big boys don't have to win
Windfarm Action Groups all over the UK are campaigning against inappropriately sited windfarms Just because the government are backing the development of windfarms does not mean that this or other proposals are right
They are winning and forcing plans to be dropped or amended The developers have lots of money to fight this but that doesn't mean they have to win
They are forcing developers to do more research into the implications There is a major court case due spring 2010 being brought by a Lincoln family who have had to leave their home
One council has already agreed to a reduction in council tax for a property affected by turbine noise - this means that they acknowledge that the property isn't worth as much as it was We can have an input into the research phase to ensure that adequate research is done regarding our environment and noise

Sign the e-petitions Do your own research
What is a safe distance between a windfarm and a home?
Has enough research been done on the effects on health?
Are the current noise standards adequate?
What is more important to our government - achieving unreasonable targets or protecting us?
  Is wind power efficient?
Is this the correct energy policy for our future?

Visit the Walkway Windfarm and see and listen for yourself

Act Now Doing nothing is not an option.
We are currently in the Scoping Phase of the project. Many of the people whose lives have been ruined by windfarms did not object at the planning stage :
We hope that the project gets stopped now. Most of these people start their stories with phrases such as:
If not, it will go on to the planning application stage. "We didn't object to the plan. We thought wind power was a good thing."
Then there is very little time for our campaign to put together an objection. "The developers told us there would be no noise."
So the work of objecting must start now.

NHWAG needs new members - Contact NHWAG Chairman What is an NGA?
There are various committees within NHWAG
looking at all the various implications of wind farms
Don't be Naive - Do your own research. There are plenty of links to follow from this web site.
Could you contribute some expertise or effort to one of the committees Don't be Gullible - Don't believe the developers propaganda.
Even if you don't think you have any relevant expertise - there are lots of jobs you can help with from distributing newsletters to fundraising and helping at the NHWAG events in the village hall. Don't be Apathetic - DO SOMETHING

Write or E-mail Every objection counts
We frequently hear people say - but Hambleton Planning Committee do not take any notice of the letters until the Planning Application has been made. Remember each objection is counted
You must still write - every letter is noted and put up on the Hambleton web site. It is important that every member of every household writes or signs petitions separately.
We hope to stop this windfarm before it gets to planning.
There are at least 2 other windfarm plans being fought against within a few miles of us.
See the List of Addresses page
The Write To Them web site is another useful source of names and addresses

What to write about? - What do you feel strongly about?   The Petition Scam
Our governments policy on wind power The developers create "For" petitions by canvassing people anywhere,
Our governments policy on how windfarms are sited Particularly targeting the young, and asking a question such as
The efficiency of wind power "Are you for windfarms?"
The siting of the proposed Ingram Grange windfarm Or they ask people who don't live in this area if they are "for" this windfarm
The effects on the value of your property This type of petition has nothing specifically to do with this windfarm
The lack of up to date guidance and research on wind turbine noise But the number of signatures will still be put forward by the developers to back their case.
The lack of research into the effects of windfarms
on health

The lack of protection for homes and communities
The destruction of our countryside
The finances of wind power
The waste of time and money caused by so many communities are going through the same process as us
